About Maine Artisans Collective

Founded in 1975, Maine Artisans Collective is one of Maine’s longest-standing artisan cooperatives. Located in the heart of Lincolnville on Route 1, the cooperative has served for decades as a place where creativity, craftsmanship, and community come together.

What began as a shared vision among a small group of local makers has grown into a vibrant cooperative representing more than 60 Maine artisans. Our members create work across a wide range of mediums including pottery, woodworking, textiles, jewelry, glass, and fine art. Each piece offered in the gallery is handcrafted by Maine artists and reflects the creativity and traditions of our region.

As a cooperative, Maine Artisans Collective is built on collaboration. Members work together to operate the gallery, support one another’s creative work, and provide a welcoming place where visitors can experience the richness and diversity of Maine’s craft community.

In 2025 the cooperative celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of connecting artists with the public and sharing authentic handmade work with visitors from Maine and beyond. Now in our 51st year, we continue that tradition by showcasing locally made art, hosting demonstrations and events, and welcoming visitors to discover unique handcrafted pieces.

Whether you are searching for a special gift, meeting the artists behind the work, or simply exploring the creativity of Maine’s artisan community, we invite you to stop in and experience Maine Artisans Collective.
